Certified by the American Board of Vascular Medicine since 2006, Dr. Dominic Pedulla is also a board-certified vein specialist and cardiologist. He has gained recognition for his innovative work in medicine and the self-improvement field, earning the title of Regional Training Expert for vein physicians in endovenous ablation procedures, which was granted to him by AngioDynamics Inc. I had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Dominic Pedulla, who is a homeschooling father of nine children, earlier this week to talk about his professional career and affiliations.

Q. First, I’d like to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with me today. Can you tell me about your professional education?

A. I’m glad to be here, and I’d be happy to. I first enrolled at Fordham University, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in the early 1980s. I then attended New York Medical College, the university that granted me my Doctor of Medicine degree in 1986. I also participated in additional continuing education courses, such as a family planning course through Creighton University in 1999.

Q. I understand that you play a significant role in several professional organizations. What societies do you belong to?

A. I am a Diplomate of the American College of Phlebology and the American Board of Vascular Medicine. Beyond these organizations, I am a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Medical Consultant for the Creighton Model Natural Family Planning System, a Legislative Council Member of the Oklahoma State Medical Association, and a Member of the American Society of Angiography and Intervention.

Q. Tell me about some of your community service efforts.

A. I have been an advocate for proper education for all children in the community, and I also remain a community sponsor and Board member for an association that creates athletic programs designed to benefit underprivileged children. In 2009, I embarked on a trip to the Dominican Republic as a missionary medical provider, and I am also a Board member of an international family planning foundation that works in third world countries around the world.
